We're currently looking for a regional membership manager to help us build, nurture, and retain partnerships in the West.

Position / Compensation 

Full-time exempt employee, working from a remote home office. Compensation includes an $85K annual base, with the opportunity to achieve up to $175K through an incentive compensation plan.

The NROC Project is a nonprofit, mission-driven organization focused on the development and distribution of personalized learning solutions – primarily addressing math and English readiness. Our award-winning content, coupled with the EdReady system (personalized learning platform) offers an engaging and effective online learning experience; supporting students during periods of transition (i.e., middle to high school, high school to college, adult ed to college or career). Though our core programs were originally grant-funded projects (Hewlett, Gates, and other foundations), NROC is a self-sustaining organization, supported in large part by institutional (academic) members with a shared commitment to providing equitable access to effective educational opportunities in an era of rapid economic, social, and personal change.

The NROC Regional Membership Manager (RMM) will be responsible for sustaining and growing revenue through memberships and custom engagements within a specified US geography – target area California, Pacific Northwest, and other western states as specified.

Responsibilities include:


  • Develop and implement regional and state-specific strategies to secure both renewal and new membership/licensing revenue. Also, work to uncover and qualify opportunities for larger custom engagements (state or system level). Activities include but are not limited to:
  1. Generate new leads through targeted email campaigns, leveraging social media outlets, attending conferences (online and/or in-person), and focused strategies for key accounts.
  2. Work with marketing on updating/creating regionally specific and relevant collateral and messaging.
  3. Stay up to date on state and local policies and trends.
  • Achieve territory revenue goals as set by the organization.
  • Maintain detailed information about new and renewing business, and associated contacts, within the NROC instance of the Salesforce CRM.
  • Work with NROC leadership and teammates to avoid conflict with channel partners and other sales efforts.
  • Responsible for renewing, and where appropriate upgrading, accounts within the defined territory. Communicate with the implementation team often to ensure customer needs and expectations are being met. Create re-engagement plans as needed.


  • Act as the main point of contact with “owned” accounts. Refer to internal resources as needed (technical and implementation support, operations, editorial, etc.).
  • Assist in planning and execution of NROC-sponsored events (annual NROC Member Meeting, regional events or focus groups, etc.) and national conferences.
  • Support Member Service’s efforts to maximize NROC usage within member organizations.
  • Cooperate with the editorial team in the search for new content and in recruiting participants in content development and resource pilot efforts as needed.


  • Have 8+ years of sales experience within the educational technology, online learning and/or digital content space.
  • Have experience and a successful track record selling into California and/or Pacific Northwest educational marketplace.
  • Be comfortable selling into a variety of market segments – NROC serves the higher education, secondary, as well as adult education sectors.
  • Be fluent in solution selling and/or enterprise-level (complex) sales.
  • Be proficient in Google and Microsoft Office applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs/Slides, as well as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Proficiency with video conferencing systems is a must (Zoom, GoToMeeting, or similar).
  • Have experience with CRM systems – previous use of SalesForce beneficial but not required.
  • Be able to travel [subject to public health directives] to national and regional conferences, select meetings with prospective members, and to other meetings as required.   • Be a team player and creative thinker; willing to follow organizational processes, but also have the ability to help define new solutions and processes that will benefit the organization.
