Scaling Student Success Across North Carolina Community Colleges

North Carolina has undertaken a statewide initiative called RISE (Reinforced Instruction for Student Excellence).

Learn how the initiative was developed and implemented over three years, including changes in student placement practices that emphasize GPA and eliminate high-stakes placement test for most students; the creation of one-semester transition courses; and the development of robust co-requisite courses designed to support student success. Both state-level and college-level details will be explored.
